Minelab Equinox 800 Showcasing Accessories: Minelab Equinox EQX 15 Double-D 15 inch Smart Coil, Custom Green Carbon Fiber Rod by Steve Detector Rods, Qweegle™ Double Adjustment Point Bungee from Doc’s Detectors

We know there are a lot of Minelab Equinox fans in the metal detecting world. I am one of them, I have been swinging an Equinox for over a year and the machine does great in most all kinds of conditions and is my go-to detector. The stock machine is just fine but there are some accessories you can add to suit your needs better. There are a lot of excellent and not so excellent accessories some from Minelab and some aftermarket. To avoid buyers remorse we have put together a list of accessories that I or my friends with Equinox 600 or 800 machines love.

Disclosure – Amazon or Kellyco Metal Detectors are affiliate links and we make a small percentage if something is purchased.

Minelab Equinox EQX 06 Double-D 6 inch Smart Coil

For those who detect in trashy areas this is a must have coil. One reviewer said “The separation of this coil is phenomenal. Just when you thought a place has been hunted out, the targets start coming again.” Comes with skid plate and mounting hardware.

Minelab Equinox EQX 15 Double-D 15 inch Smart Coil

Great for improved wide ground coverage and finding deep targets. For those with elbow or shoulder issues note it is heavier than the stock coil especially beach hunting when it gets wet and has sand on it. Using a weight counterbalance at the end of your shaft and or shoulder support is smart with this coil.

Minelab Waterproof Headphones

If you are thinking of getting into underwater detetecting, or even wading in the water detecting or detect in the rain, wired waterproof headphones are a must. The wireless headphones that come with the 800 lose signal under water and you need waterproof headphones if you submerge the Equinox control head there for you need wired ones.

Qweegle™ Double Adjustment Point Bungee

Detectorist get shoulder and elbow injuries, it’s just what happens with repetitive swinging with the excitement of finding you next cool find. The Qweegle™ Double Adjustment Point Bungee help take the weight loud off your shoulder and elbow making for a lighter feel and easier swing. Those of my friends who have the Qweegle™ Double Adjustment Point Bungee and like it say that it is important to keep on adjusting it just right for your swing.
